It is in forecast that, India will get & receive above- average Rainfall in September 2024,after getting surplus Rainfall in August 2024.weather department reported.
Rainfall in September, likely to be more than 110% of a 50 year’s Average. Mr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra, Director general of Indian Meteorological Department told & informed in a virtual news conference.
Above-normal rainfall could damage summer- sown crops like rice, soyabean, corn, cotton and various pulses, which typically harvested in this mid- September.
India is the second largest producer in the World of rice, pulses, wheat, sugar etc. And due to heavy rain fall in unusual time will curb the production of agriculture. And in due course, for over rainfall, crop damage can lead food inflation. On exporting of these food items, it should be curb, and due to loss of export of these farm commodities, the income of foreign currency would curb.
After receiving 9% more rainfall in july, India get 15% more than average rainfall from past year, the Western part, central part and eastern part States like, Gujarat, Rajasthan, delhi, up, assam are flooding.
The country has recorded almost 7% more rainfall than average since the start of monsoon seasons from june.
Generally monsoon start to retreat from mid- September from North- western states, and ending across the country in mid October. But this year’s rainfall withdrawal can be delayed.
