Near about 46 numbers of People yave drowned, most of them are children, women, while bathing in rivers, swollen by water by recent floods during the observances of Hindu religious festival celebrating millions of North india, report says.
37 Numbers of children among 46 numbers of death, and over 8 women, those who were drowned into water on Wednesday in eastern india’s state of Bihar, in scattered way across 15 districts, as reported by the Disaster Management Authorities of Bihar state.
The Devotees, who were swollen into water, celebrating an annually festival of ‘Jivit putrika vrat’, where women fast for 24 hours and pray to water for their children for wellbeing, with a holy bath into water. So, devotees travels to rivers here & there for their holy bath accompanied with their children. But during this time a recent flood waters swallowed them.
Lacal media reports that, rivers in the state swollen by water during heavy rain for couple of days.
In India, during the festival times, in some religious events, it was seen some stampedes in past, but widespread drowning incidents, which was happened, is rare.
Govt of Bihar state, announced a compensation of ₹4, 00,000/- per family of a deceased , as said. But it was a disastrous incident, which was widespread in 15 Districts of a state, would be remindable and and local govt should take more precautions during religious festival and such type of holy bathe.
