India’s neighbouring country Bangladesh is battaling it’s worsen outbreak of Dengue in year’s, with more than 400 deaths, due to rising temperatures and long monsoon seasons.
Atleast 407 people died this year from related complications in 2024, with near about 79,000 patients admitted to hospitals nationwide , which latest official figures shown.
In running November, about 4,175 patients treated freshly in hospitals, and about half of them from Dhaka, the capital city.

” we are witnessing monsoon like rainfall in October months, which never in Bangladesh… , and which is unusual “- said Kabirul Bashar, a zoology professor.
Shifting weather patterns caused by climatical changes provided optimal conditions for the Aedes aegypti mosquito, the primary carrier of the disease. The changes of monsoon pattern and rain in these seasons are fostering ideal conditions for mosquitos to breed.
Dense population in city areas exacerbate the spread of disease promptly usually more common in monsoon season from June to September, but in rising temperatures and long monsoon season due to climate change, have caused a spike in mosquito breeding, driving rapid spread of virus.

The growing frequency and severity of outbreak strains already Bangladesh’s overwhelmed Healthcare System, as Hospitals battle to treat thousands of patients.
