India-Bangladesh Relationship: A Diplomatic Disaster for India’…. !!

Growing tensions between Bangladesh & India have erupted having amid accusations attack on Bangladesh’s Hindu minorities, which has prompted mass protests and assaults on a Bangladeshi consulate in India.

The Relationship between the two countries, has soured from August last, when a Popular uprising – now widely termed the ” monsoon revolution ” – toppled Bangladesh’s authritarian  Prime minister Seikh Hasina.

Hasina has Enjoyed years of backing by Delhi, even as her regime turned to force and mass corruption, remain in Power. When She fled the Country in August last, faced with tens of thousands of protesters marching towards her Residence, Hasina Crossed the Border to India, where She had remained since. She was allegated, faces charges of Crimes against Humanity, Mass Murders, and Systematic Torture in Bangladesh.

The Collapse of Hasina Government, was widely regarded as a Diplomatic Disaster for India, which faces threats along it’s borders from Pakistan and some how from China. Where Bangladesh, the country was Closest Regional Ally and Delhi’s Modi Government had used it’s considerable sway over Hasina to Orchestrate Economically and Strategically beneficial Deals.

Since Hasina fled in August last, specially protected by Indian Air force, India has been accused of attempting to undermine the Caretaker Government in Bangladesh, led by the Nobel Prize winning Economist Mohammad Yunus, who is seen as far less amenable to India’s demands and had Called for a ” reset ” of relationship between the two countries.

One of the main flash-point of allegations of widespread attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, A Muslim Majority Country – claims Bangladesh says have been exaggerated  by the Indian government for political means.

” They have spread these rumours in particular countries and among influential players “- Mohammad Yunus told in gatherings in Bangladesh, without taking the name of the nation – India.

” They are undermining Our efforts to built a New Bangladesh, and are spreading fictitious  stories “.

Tensions between the two countries were escalates when Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Hindu monk of ISKCON, a well known society worldwide, was arrested for sedition over allegations that he had disrespectful to Bangladesh’s National Flag, and a flag was under his feet, as it was alleged. He was arrested and his bail was denied. A protest by his supporters turned violent. A Muslim prosecutor was hacked to death, who appeared for his bail. Hindu groups alleged this had led to a campaign of violence in Hindu minorities neighbourhood and attacks.This violence escalates throughout the country.

Mass protests erupted in India, in response. Hindu monks protests towards borders of Bangladesh. A Bangladeshi consulate in Indian state of Tripura, was attacked on Monday by protesters.Indian government termed the attack ” deeply regrettable “. Dhaka summoned the Indian envoy in response to what it describes as a ” Heinous Attack “.

The interim government of Dhaka has accused India of spreading misinformation about the anti Hindu violence in Bangladesh to destabilize the caretaker regime, with right-wing Indian media making unsubstantiated claims of ” Hindu Bloodbath “  over the borders. The press secretary of the Interim government told to the news agency that- ” some Indian media blindly supported Seikh Hasina’s corrupt and brutal dictatorship, (Which nowadays in Indian Territory, by Modi Government) over the last 16 years in Bangladesh. “.  ” India, seem to be Unhappy, that Hasina was ousted from the Power, by a Student led people mass uprising – that not happening in India… “.
