The Western Indian State, Maharashtra has formed a high powered panel to Study, Research & Implementation to ban Petrol, Diesel Vehicles in Mumbai City, which worsening Air Quality and only to Allow Electric and Gas driven vehicles, as it said in an order.
If any ban on Petrol & Diesel Vehicles in financial Capital of India is implemented, it may effect not only to Indian Automobile Industries, and manufacturer of automobiles, but it also may big impact on citizens, Businesses and a big percentage of moving metro city, which rely only on these such type of vehicles.

Mumbai, the home of Indian Stock Market, Many Centralised offices of global Banks, Multinationals, Flims industries, corporate world’s hub has seen air quality worsen since the pandemic amid growing traffic congestions and several ongoing infrastructure and construction projects.
Maharastra State Government officials said, recently it has formed a high powered seven members comittee to study, research & implement the proposal of banning petrol & diesel vehicles, and only allowing electric and compressed natural gas running vehicles across the Mumbai metropolitan city, according to a Court directives. The government of Maharashtra order is dated 22, January,2025, however the order gained public attention on Tuesday after indian media has extensively reports on it. Earlier Bombay High Court, in its own public interest litigation directed maharashtra government to constitute a comittee on it to study, research & implement to phase out Petrol & Diesel driven vehicles.
Air quality in Mumbai worsen incrementally since 2020, showing 12% increase in air quality index according to AQI, that shows real time data.
