Palatana: In the years of 2015-16, Tripura’s remarkable Thermal power project station established in palatana, west-south side of the state, at CPI(M) regime.
It was the big achievement at that time, for the remote state, where heavyweight bulk transportation was not possible from other part of the country as machinery for thermal power project situated in palatana.
In that period, Bangladesh, the neighbouring country of India, and almost surrounded into three sides of Tripura, helped the state in transportation of bulk machinery through Bangladesh’s Ashuganj, to Tripura. However, the then Chief Minister of Tripura, prime minister of India requested for transportation to Bangladesh prime minister mrs. Hasina.
And also, she gave the permission, and after transportation of machineries, the power project was started. It was decided at that time that, 100KW Electricity will supplied by India to Bangladesh in the first phases, and slowly it will increased. The electricity supply was started to Bangladesh.
India regularly supplies power to that country from Tripura state, and both the govt, central & state govt has revenue from electricity supply to the neighbouring country.
But, problem arises here now, when Bangladesh Crisis arises. Government has changed in the country. New government against the policies were taken from India, and all stopped recently all policies with India.
Here, one question arises for the small state Tripura….. Tripura got a revenue on supply of power, and in this course, the state has a credit to Bangladesh over ₹200 crores. Which amounts till remains with the country like Bangladesh.
As in this scenarios, where country like Bangladesh, government has changed, and a new interim govt formed, which are against the policies of India with Bangladesh.
Now the state in a monetary pressures with Bangladesh, which can ignore about the credit policy of the state like Tripura, for thermal power supplies into that neighbouring country.
