Elon Musk’s Starlink seeking security clearance for a licence to offer Settelite Broadband service in India and will get permission if it satisfies all. Conditions, the Telecom minister Mr, Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Tuesday.
Starlink has been looking to enter into Indian subscribers hand for years, and it’s plans got a major boost last month when New Delhi said it wouldn’t Auction the Spectrum for Settelite Broadband , but rather award it administratively.
Telecom Minister Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia told on Tuesday that, Starlink is in the process of obtaining security clearance , which required it’s to satisfy New Delhi that, the company processes and stored data locally , and that it’s signal data are secure in India.
“When you check all the boxes & steps,you automatically get licence”- the minister told. ” If they(Starlink),do all, we will very happy”- he also added
Security clearance would take Starlink one step closer to Elon Musk’s plan to offer Indians, which market Ambani’s Jio dominates with more than 14 million indian wired subscribers.
Mukesh Ambani, the Asia’s richest, also has 479 million voice customer , as a Telecom users,but it concerned that, after spending 19 billion U.S. Dollars in Airwaves auctions, he now in a risks of losing broadband subscribers on data potentially and voice clients also to Musk’s Starlink, which is most advanced technologies equipped with own space satellites & advanced AI technologies.
Reliance Jio already has security clearance to launch Satelite Broadband services now, according to a source in direct knowledge.
Starlink has told to Indian Government , it is willing to comply with all of New Delhi’s Security requirements to store about data locally, and their all equipped sources familiar with the matters not only in India, but it is most familiar with all other countries, where and which the country familiar with it’s services globally, as in African countries, whole United States and other European countries, where technologies are more advanced with stored data.
After security clearance obtaining, company needs obtain spectrum to start offering Settelite Broadband services in India.
Ambani’s JIO once gave free data, free recharge to mobile plans, Elon Musk’s Starlink similarly aggressive with Indian subscribers with it’s newest tactics to adopt. In African country Kenya, Musk priced 10 dollar per month for Starlink, where 120 dollars per month in U.S.to take challenge.
